  • Tickets must be purchased in advance as our food tours typically sell out quickly ahead of time. To maximize your chances of getting the day, time, and the number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, AMEX, or MasterCard from our website or by calling 416-699-7784 or toll-free in North America at 1-866-989-7990. Cash and/or walk-up traffic the day of the tours are not accepted.

  • Chevron down Do I need to purchase a ticket if I’m not eating?
  • Yes- all guests must purchase a ticket whether they plan to partake in the food tastings or not. Non-paying individuals will not be able to join the tour for any reason(s). The ticket fees help cover the costs of all the food samplings and also to pay for your tour guide(s) wages, who are offering valuable commentary on historical, architectural, cultural and restaurant information during our tours.

  • Chevron down What is your refund policy?
  • Tickets are non-refundable once purchased, however, you may send someone in your place. We are sure they will love you for it.

  • Toronto Food Tours Inc. uses a secure payment processing system for all transactions. Our system is PCI-certified meaning all data is encrypted and verified during the entire registration process and no credit card information is stored by Toronto Food Tours Inc.

  • By purchasing our “LIFE IS UNPREDICTABLE” Tour Protection you are protected against any unforeseen circumstances that may occur, allowing you to cancel or reschedule your food tour or experience by emailing [email protected] with ONLY 2 HOURS NOTICE.

    Buying a ticket to one of our experiences is just like buying a theatre, sporting, concert, movie or special event – ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL. Last minute cancellations ARE NOT PERMITTED without having purchased our tour protection. Please note we operate in all weather conditions.

    If you have chosen NOT to protect your tickets, they will be non-refundable. In the event that you wish to reschedule a tour (based on availability)) or convert your purchase to a gift certificate, you may do so with 72 hour advance notice. A $15.00 per guest fee will apply.

Tour Information

  • Chevron down How much food is served on the food tour?
  • Our Food Tours serve enough food that, for most participants, it will replace one meal (lunch or dinner depending on the tour).

  • Chevron down Can I take children on the tour?
  • While we offer adolescent and children tickets, the tours range from 2.5 to 4 hours in length and some children have a limited attention span and therefore the tour may not be appropriate for some of them. Parents, who know their children best, should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when deciding whether the tour is appropriate for your child. Please note that some of the locations we visit are small and may not be able to handle strollers. Some tours require participants to be 19 years of age or older.

  • Yes, Toronto Food Tours Inc. private group tours are available for all tours offered. A member of our team will respond within 24 hours.

  • Chevron down How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour?
  • Tours generally last between 3 to 4 hours, depending on the tour route, and participants can expect to be standing or walking for a majority of the time. We walk at a moderate pace and also provide at least one sit-down location on all of our tours for at least 30 minutes total during the tour.

  • Many of Toronto Food Tours Inc. attendees live right here in Toronto. Our tours are designed to provide insight into particular neighbourhoods that will be enlightening to both locals and visitors.

  • Absolutely! We are taking you to some of our favourite locations and if you would like to purchase something, please feel free.

  • Chevron down If I'm a visitor to Toronto, when is the best time to take the tour?
  • We highly recommend taking our food tours at the beginning of your visit to Toronto so you allow plenty of time to revisit the wonderful neighborhoods off-the-beaten-path and also enjoy returning to your favorite food tasting locations.

  • Chevron down Does the tour leader accept gratuities?
  • Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. In Toronto, the standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%-20%.

  • Chevron down Are any beverages served on the tour?
  • All of our events include some type of beverage. These range from coffee, water and soft drinks to beer, wine and spirits depending on the tour. More detail is available in the individual tour descriptions.

  • Chevron down Does the tour end at the same place we meet?
  • No, Toronto Food Tours Inc. do not always finish at the same location as the meeting point. However, detailed instructions, regarding the starting point, are provided after ticket purchase.  At the end of the tour we will ensure that you know where you are going.

  • Chevron down What restaurants will we visit on the tour?
  • The company is owned by a chef and restauranteur and having this knowledge we have hand selected the best locations. We find it best to keep the locations private but will provide you with a meeting point that you will find on our website. We don’t go to chain resaurants to keep the experience organic.

  • Chevron down What types of foods are served on the tour?
  • Food is provided by ethnic eateries, specialty food shops, and local restaurants. The type of food depends on the neighbourhood(s) that the tour is held in.

  • Chevron down Are tours offered only in English?
  • We only offer tours in English at this time. Please call or email us if you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour.

  • Chevron down What happens if it rains or snows?
  • The tours are held rain, shine, or snow. In the event of inclement weather, the balance of time spent indoors will increase but we do walk in the rain and snow and we advise checking the weather conditions for your day’s event and dressing appropriately. In rare occasions (lightning or ice storms) we will reschedule an event for safety reasons.

  • Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected food-tasting locations.

  • Chevron down Are cameras allowed on the tour?
  • Yes. Cameras and filming are allowed during the tour. We strongly encourage participants to take photos during the tour.

  • Absolutely not! Toronto Food Tours Inc. combines architectural commentary, historical facts, local culture and culinary insight into a unique 3-4 hour experience. Imagine walking through Toronto eating our local artisan’s most delicious foods while learning the neighbourhoods from real locals.

Do you have any accommodations?

  • Please be sure to let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance, we can accommodate your needs.
